For over 12 years we've sold only red and infrared cold lasers.  Our customers, which include thousands of veterinarians, equestrians, and dog owners have reported outstanding results treating muscle and joint conditions, pain, wounds, including post surgical wounds, and injuries such as bowed tendons.   Cold lasers produce coherent light, meaning the photons travel in one direction and have the ability to thoroughly saturate the tissues.  Cold laser light, which excels in healing musculo-skeletal conditions and reducing pain, as stated above, has no real limitations other than the light is very concentrated, and should not be used on the exact same spot more than once a day.  In fact, because cold laser therapy is so concentrated and so efficient in saturating the tissues, many veterinarians recommend only using cold laser therapy every other day  on any one spot (this is explained below).  A lot of our customers, who are thrilled with the results they get with our cold lasers, asked if we can design an affordable high powered and effective LED torch that can be used as often as necessary throughout the day to control pain.  We finally did.    It's called the Vetrolight.

The Vetrolight, which is composed of 16 red and infrared high powered LEDs (non-coherent light) can be used as often as needed to control pain throughout the day.  A cold laser should only be used once per day per area.  The reason is this:  Using coherent (laser) light too frequently on the same area can cause the "inhibition effect," meaning the skin will develop a resistance to the light which can cause diminished results.

LEDs do not penetrate as deeply as cold lasers and are not known to cause the "inhibition effect" but they absorb quickly into the skin which can reduce inflammation over painful superficial nerve endings.
The Vetrolight can also be used in between laser therapy sessions several times throughout the same day without interfering with the results from the laser session.  This is why a lot of our customers like our combination LED/Laser packages.

The same precautions have to be taken with high powered LEDs as with cold lasers.  Eye safety is the most important concern. Never stare directly into any LED or Laser light.  Wear protective safety goggles that specifically protects for the wavelengths you are using.  If for some reason you are not using protective laser eyewear, then make sure the LED or laser is pointing down away from the eyes, including the animal's eyes, and not reflecting on anything, such as metal/jewelry/collars, that can reflect back in your face.  Laser/LED safety goggles are for those who want to see what's going on during the treatment.  An animal doesn't have to see what's going on, they just need their eyes covered by a light-tight mask or by the owner/assistant's hand.  Before any customer buys from us, they agree to assume full responsibility for safely using our products.

Always consult with a licensed veterinarian before administering any treatment on your pet.
